EXCURSIONS-NATURE AND ART

Villaggio Europa offers its guests the use of a catamaran, for excursions to the island of Barabana and the nearby nature reserve at the mouth of the River Isonzo.

This reserve is patronized by WWF, where rare birds and wild horses have been reintroduced as part of a WWF programme and live in the wild. On the island of Barbana lies a Sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin Mary, place of worship and an international pilgrimage destination.

At only 5 kms distance by cycle path from the Villaggio Europa, guests can visit Grado with its cultural and historical heritage characterized by early Christian churches, Roman and High-Medieval bas-reliefs.
Aquileia is another beautiful place, located very close to Villaggio Europa, and it is one of the most important cities of the ancient Roman Empire, now an outstanding archaeological site, which UNESCO has recently listed as a world heritage.

At reception you will find all the information about Trieste, Udine, Gorizia, Venice and many other less famous but equally beautiful places in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, of both historic and gastronomic interest.

Moreover, Grado and the Upper Adriatic offer to everyone keen on sea depths excursions which are interesting from the naturalistic and archeological point of view and suitable for every level of diving training.
